A man that tells serial lies artfully or a man that tells the truth inartfully?
|
Is it still considered a lie if it is read from a teleprompter?

Don't try to put lip stick on that pig.........I can't agree with much that the Prez stands for, but, there is a time and place for emotional debate by all the players.......last night during the joint session was not the place for the congressman to interject himself........regardless of what has happened to others in the past. It was wrong in the past when Dems showed disrespect to Bush and it was wrong last night for Wilson to show disrespect to Obama. And,in my opinion, Congressman Wilson no more represents the 'republican' party than Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney represented the 'democrat' party.

You assume too much by the question and misunderstand me if you think I am trying to put lipstick on a pig. I don't condone what he did and in fact I think it was very wrong. And I would not even begin to justify it based on the numerous similar examples of bad behavior by Dems during the Bush administration. I was simply asking the question about which is worse, not is one bad and the other good or justified. In this case the congressman does a disservice to himself and his constituents. In the other case Obama does a disservice to himself, the office and the country when tells serial lies.
I still ask, which is worse? And the reason I ask is that the lesser of the two evils will get disproportionately more coverage from the government media and the serial lies will for the most part go unexamined, except by the alternate media. That is a sad and unfortunate reality.
I would point out that only one of the two has apologized for his bad behavior. The other stands by his lies.....which is worse?

Back to the question before the house...I simply thought your question deserved more than a yes/no or one word answer.......and i concentrated on the Wilson issue......of course both actions have negative consequences. The down side for the Prez mis-stating the content of HB 3200 will be awful for generations, if enacted........but a significant portion of the American people are coming out of their slumber and are paying attention to this debate and are having an impact on the congress. One of the down sides of the outburst is that it is a gift that keeps on giving to the spin meisters who want nothing better than to talk about anything BUT the details of the health care bills, so therefore it will be harmful to the debate for the reasons you stated. The R's have always been held to a higher standard than the D's because they have mostly been the adults in the room anyway. I just thought you were going in the direction of excusing bad manners on Wilsons part because he told the truth about Obamas assertion.....and I thought that was a mistake because you are too good at framing the debate and supporting your point with logic and facts. Your response tells me different. Both actions are corrosive to the public good.........I'm just glad the MSM has found a Joe Wilson they despise!!

Right or wrong, this incident may very well become the defining moment of the Obama administration.

Thanks Mr. Wilson. Clumsy and improper but effective. Apparently Obama was lying, but then again his lips were moving. Oh I'm sorry, the teleprompter was lying. He was just the messenger.
