You know it is going to be a good day when you catch 2 fish on the same plug. Caught a limit before lunch, bite starting getting good later in morning. Surgace temp was 78 deg with slight wind. most were caught on deep cranks near creek channels. Fish were suspended in 45-50 feet of water. Also caught some on verticle jigging, fish are not bunched up good yet but it won't be long. Also noticed that a distint thermocline at 50 feet in parts of Blue Creek I was fishing. interesting.
Check out my website Ahluring angler university on lakemartin.com. If you are struggling catching fish and want to learn other tactics, I specialize in verticle jigging techniques and keep field tested baits in stock. I offer individual trip plans and discounts for using your boat.
Had such a good time will be going again tomorrow to do some field testing on some had poured baits I produce. All are powder coated and baked for hardness to stand up to the elements.

Got out after 10 am. Fish were not as active as yesterday. Surface temp was 72-74 deg, light chop. Boated 8, bite was slow and all caught on cranks. Found 2 small schools of fish suspended at 12-15 feet. Had the tail eaten off my fluke jr. swim bait in the first bunch and broke my line on the hook set with a shad spoon on the other one. Fished further up in blue creek, more bait, less fish. (guess they did not read the memo) Will give it another try tomorrow in a different spot.

Had another pretty good day, boated 9 spots. All were 14-15 inch range with 1 dink. For the second time this week, caught 2 on same plug. Did some trolling in new areas in creeks, fish were caught on a 3 inch strike king XD. Got 1 strike on a shad jigging spoon, no hook up. Weather and water temps remain about the same this week. People are probably catching some shallow but I continue to focus on the deep water bite, better fish and a chance to get into large schools. Fish seem to be scattered and in small bunches so chances you can get more than 1 if they are feeding.

I've been targeting large mouth up the lake heading towards the shoals. Caught three nice ones last Saturday evening. 2.5-4 lbs using a white spinner bait or a crawfish colored squarebill.
I also caught 13 spots on up near the shoals but most of them were in the 1lb class.
